This two-day course is a great opportunity to develop practical and theory knowledge around the use of Saint-Gobain systems for the retrofit of properties including External Wall Insulation (EWI), Internal Wall Insulation (IWI) and Loft Insulation.
It aims to upskill supervisors with little or no experience of fabric retrofit to become competent in the correct installation of Saint-Gobains retrofit solutions and able to confidently supervise installers to reduce installation errors, reduce waste and ensure the successful installation of fabric insulation measures resulting in reduced energy use and increasing thermal comfort for the occupier.
The course teaches participants how EWI, IWI and loft insulation should be installed and the building science behind taking a fabric first approach, including:
- The importance of moisture management in relation to fabric insulation measures
- Detailing of EWI, IWI and Loft insulation to reduce thermal bridging
- The correct installation process for EWI, IWI and Loft Insulation
- Common terminology associated with retrofit
- What is fabric first?
- PAS2030 and PAS2035 compliance
- Carrying out a successful retrofit
- Common installation faults, causes, and potential effects on the building envelope and inhabitants.
Led by knowledgeable industry professionals, this course is a great steppingstone to developing your knowledge of the installation of metal stud partitions.

- In the event of cancellation by the Build Better Academy, you will be entitled to a full refund of the course fee, but we shall not be liable for any other loss or expense arising.
- You may cancel the course booking by notifying us as soon as reasonably practicable. You shall also be deemed to have cancelled the course booking if the delegate does not attend the event
- No refund shall be provided if you cancel the course within 14 days of its start date.
