Introduction to Airless Plaster - Spraying and Sanding

A 1 day course on the application and finishing of Gyproc Spray Finish. Please note that we also offer a 3 day variant of this course which includes preparation of joints prior to spraying.

Description

This specialist course in the application of airless plaster is made up of 6 hours of mostly practical work. Designed for those with little or no previous experience, the course aims to upskill new installers, dryliners or decorators by introducing them to the benefits of airless plaster as an alternative to traditional skimming or taped finish.

The course teaches participants how to prepare, apply and finish airless plaster including:

  • Identifying and selecting required tools to apply and finish Gyproc Spray Finish compounds
  • Setting up, safely using and cleaning out Graco Mark V machine
  • Correctly apply and finish Gyproc Spray Finish to provide a level 4 finish inline with BS EN 13914-2:2016
  • Protect areas pre and post spraying with Gyproc Spray Finish
  • Common faults when applying Gyproc Spray Finish
  • Common issues with Graco Mark V machines and remedials 

Overall, this is a great first step into plastering that will help to build skill, confidence and product knowledge of Gyproc Spray Finish. There’s also a strong emphasis on safe working and quality with all course material delivered by an industry experts.

 

Late arrivals

All attendees must be at the venue at least 15mins before the advertised start time, once the course begins late arrivals will be turned away and provided with an alternative date - we DO NOT issue refunds for cancellation due to late arrival

A minimum of 2 attendees are required to run this course

Cancellation policy

  • We reserve the right to cancel or arrange an alternative date for a course. In such circumstances, we will endeavour to provide five working days’ notice of cancellation or change to you, unless the problem is urgent due to an emergency or illness.
  • In the event of cancellation by the Build Better Academy, you will be entitled to a full refund of the course fee, but we shall not be liable for any other loss or expense arising.
  • You may cancel the course booking by notifying us as soon as reasonably practicable. You shall also be deemed to have cancelled the course booking if the delegate does not attend the event
  • No refund shall be provided if you cancel the course within 14 days of its start date.

CITB training grants

This course attracts a Tier 2 CITB grant of £140/learner.

To qualify for grant your CITB levy information must be upto date.

Please note that this grant can only be claimed once per learner.
