At the Build Better Academy, our training courses are led by a team of highly skilled professionals who bring real-world experience and accredited teaching expertise. Each trainer is a qualified tradesperson with hands-on site experience, ensuring that the instruction is both practical and relevant. They hold recognised teaching qualifications, such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and are certified first aiders.

Peter Baum
Hi Im Peter, i have over 20 years working within the construction industry with 18 years of them as a director of my own plastering company.
In 2019 i joined British Gypsum as a Training Partnership Manager where my role is to create pathways for new entrants into the plastering industry by building relationships and working with Commercial training providers, Colleges, schools and sub-contractors.
Developing strategies in supporting Plasterers into employment, working with Colleges to develop relationships with sub-contractors to build routes to employment for students within the Thistle College Partnership program.
As my passion is teaching and embedding new skills into learners i still enjoy coming into the academy and running courses on plastering.
